A police constable is accused of falsifying evidence of an assault. Police constable Micu is due to appear before a two-day misconduct hearing beginning on Thursday, December 18, where they are accused of gross misconduct while working as a police officer.

The listing, published on the Merseyside Police website, explains how the hearing will be chaired by Assistant Chief Constable Jennifer Wilson at Merseyside Police HQ. PC Micu is accused of “wilfully and knowingly misrepresented or falsified evidence of an assault/assaults upon you”.

By allegedly doing this, PC Micu, whose first name was not given in the listing, abused their position as a police officer.

The listing continued to say that the officer submitted statements of evidence which were false and behaved in a manner which undermines the public confidence in police.

In the listing on the force’s website, it said: “Constable MICU will face the following allegations at the level of gross misconduct:

“Honesty and Integrity in that you wilfully and knowingly misrepresented or falsified evidence of an assault/assaults upon you by Mr Christian and in so doing abused your position as a police officer.

“Duties and Responsibilities: in that in submitting your statements of evidence which were false you were not diligent in the exercise of your duties and responsibilities.

“Discreditable Conduct: In that in wilfully and knowingly misrepresenting or falsifying evidence against Mr Christian you have behaved in a manner which discredits the police service and undermines public confidence in it.”
