A “jealous” husband stabbed his wife and mother to his three children to death in her own home because he believed she was having an affair. Hai Van Nguyen, of Hatfield Close, in New Cross Gate, Lewisham, was found guilty of killing Hien Thi Vu at Woolwich Crown Court on Monday, December 15.
Hien was found in her bedroom with seven stab wounds on Sunday, April 13, after her husband handed himself into a police station. A bloody knife was also found on her bedside drawer.
Nguyen was immediately arrested upon turning himself in and he was then charged the next day. He will be sentenced next Friday (December 19).

Detective Inspector Stephanie Dexter, who led the investigation, said: “This is a tragic case and our thoughts remain with the couple’s three children who are grieving for the sudden loss of their mother. Nguyen was a jealous man who carried out a brutal attack on his wife in their own home, the place she should have been safest.
“Our commitment to tackling violence against women and girls is unwavering and we would encourage victims to reach out to police or other support agencies to seek help.
“We will respond with sensitivity, and we will work with you to provide the appropriate support, whilst keeping you safe and dealing robustly with the perpetrator.”

Nguyen would often challenge Hien as he believed that she had been unfaithful, the court heard. In the hours before she died, he made her access the TfL app to prove her movements.
