THE Prince and Princess of Wales celebrated a Ruby wedding anniversary — after bumping into comic Ruby Wax on a ferry.

The 72-year-old spotted the royals while travelling from the Isle of Mull and to the island of Iona.

And the talkative American joked that she had broken a vow of silence to greet them.

Ruby said: “It’s funny because I’m on a retreat there. And I thought, ‘Why are they interrupting my silent retreat? I mean, you could break the silent retreat for this.’ ”

She said of meeting 42-year-old William: “I didn’t realise he was so good looking. He looks like his mother.”

William and Kate, 43, have celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary during their visit to the Inner Hebrides.

During their second and final day there yesterday, they visited the Ardura Community Forest.

They met families and Kate looked through toy “binoculars” made from loo roll tubes.

She described it as “an amazing place to be on our anniversary”.

Kate has previously said spending time in nature has helped her cancer recovery.
