Officers have released an image of a man they wish to speak to following an incident at a Waterstones in Manchester city centre. Greater Manchester Police is investigating an incident which took place at the store on Sunday afternoon (December 14).

The incident allegedly involved a theft and a threat of assault at 2.30pm that day. GMP has today (Thursday) issued an appeal for help as part of its investigation.

It has released a CCTV image showing a man who could be a key witness in the investigation. The man pictured, or anyone with information that could assist officers, is asked to come forward.

A GMP spokesperson said: “We would like to speak to this man as we believe he can help with our investigation of theft and a threat of assault at Waterstones in the city centre on December 14 at around 2:30pm.
