More than 20 drivers faced police action during the dedicated road safety Operation Advance in Birmingham city centre.

West Midlands Police stopped 22 vehicles on Tuesday, December 16, and brought them to their site in the city centre.

Of those two had been stolen and will now be returned to their rightful owners and four were seized because they had no insurance. Another 10 had illegally tinted windows.

Police said three drivers were dealt with for using their phone and two were dealt with for not wearing a seatbelt.

The Multi Agency Road Safety Operation was led by the Road Harm Prevention Team within the Roads Policing Unit.

It brought together a wide range of partners who all share the same goal – keeping our region’s roads safe.

This Christmas, police are also part of Op Limit – a national crackdown on drink and drug drivers.

Officers are highly trained to spot them, and have the technology to test for it. If you’re over the limit, you will be arrested. No excuses.
