Bradford Bulls have bolstered their ranks with the signing of Hull KR forward Leon Ruan. All Out Rugby League reports that the Bulls have finalised a deal for the 22 year old, with plans for a permanent contract in the future.

Ruan joined the Robins ahead of the 2025 season after parting ways with Leeds Rhinos but didn’t feature during the club’s triumphant treble-winning campaign, instead spending time on loan at Featherstone Rovers and Salford Red Devils.

However, he will now head to Odsal in search of regular Super League action, having already made 20 appearances in the competition.

A product of the Wakefield Trinity academy, Ruan chose to step down to League 1 at an early age to gain first-team experience. His performances for Doncaster, where he scored six tries in 21 appearances, caught the attention of Leeds who subsequently offered him a trial.

He impressed enough to secure a contract with the club ahead of the 2023 season. During his two seasons with the Rhinos, he played 11 times and also had a brief loan stint at Bradford, making two appearances in 2023.

Now, he is poised for a longer spell at Bradford, who have been eager to add him to their squad for several weeks. Ruan is the latest addition to the Bulls’ roster following their promotion to the Super League, becoming their 16th new recruit ahead of the 2026 season.
