Liverpool John Lennon Airport passengers will notice a change when travelling through this festive period. The airport signed a new agreement with WHSmith earlier this year, that will see the specialist retailer invest in their airport facilities with a doubling in size of their main retail space located in the airport’s Departure Lounge.
The store is now open in time for the Christmas travel period.
WHSmith will be introducing an increased range of goods to cater for the growing numbers of airport passengers including cosmetic brands L’Oreal and Maybelline for the first time.
Travellers should also expect an increased technology range, INMOTION, with premium brands including Apple and Samsung, alongside their popular range of Books, Magazines, Food and Drink.
There will also be the usual branded Health and Beauty categories such as suncare, toiletries and baby range. Additional self-service tills will also be installed.

The new agreement with WHSmith follows the airport’s commercial decision to partner with a single operator for essential retail in the core categories of Health and Beauty, Books, Magazines, Technology and Food and Drink.
This means the airport has chosen not to renew its contract with Boots who previously had two retail units at the airport.
These units already closed a few weeks ago, with these spaces earmarked for further retail developments in the future.
Liverpool Airport opened its Aspire Executive Lounge on October 7. The new Lounge is operated by Swissport and replaces their previous smaller Aspire Lounge which first opened its doors in May 2012.
