A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a spree of six sexual assaults in a single night. Police were called to Stockbridge in Edinburgh following the attacks on Friday, December 12.
One assault happened at around 5.20pm on Fettes Row. Just ten minutes later, at around 5.30pm, another woman was attacked as she walked her dog on Inverleith Row.
A short time after that, a separate woman was targeted as she walked past Stockbridge Church on Saxe Coburg Street. Following the initial report of three attacks, three further assaults were reported in at Dean Bank Lane and Royal Crescent.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with all six attacks. He is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, December 22.

Detective Inspector Dougal Begg said: “We know these incidents caused concern in the local community and I would like to thank members of the public for their support during our enquiries.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A man has been arrested and charged in connection with six sexual assaults in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh.
“We received reports of three incidents on the evening of Friday, December 12, in the Fettes Row, Inverleith Row and Saxe Coburg Street areas.
“Three further incidents were reported thereafter in the Dean Bank Lane and Royal Crescent areas.
“Following extensive enquiries, a 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection. He is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, December 22.”
