A driver from Wigan has been arrested after a crash left an e-biker with a serious head injury. Officers closed off Pimbo Road, in Skelmersdale, West Lancashire, following a crash involving a black Honda Civic and an e-bike on Friday afternoon (December 19).
Lancashire Police says it was called about the collision by North West Ambulance Service at 2.24pm. The e-bike rider, a man in his 20s, was rushed to hospital with a serious head injury.
A 41-year-old man from Wigan was arrested on suspicion of driving with excess drugs and causing serious injury by carless driving. He remains in custody today (Saturday), Lancashire Police says. Enquiries are ongoing and witnesses are being urged to come forward.
A Lancashire Police spokesperson added: “Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone footage is asked call us on 101, quoting log 0821 of December 19, 2025. You can also email the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at SCIU@lancashire.police.uk
“A road closure was put in place while investigation work is carried out but it has since re-opened. We know that this caused significant disruption at the time, and we would just like to thank those impacted for their patience and understanding.”
