The Edinburgh city bypass has been restricted to one lane following a crash. The incident, which happened on the A720 near Baberton at around 8.11pm on Saturday, December 20 saw the right-hand lane westbound closed off by police.
A video seen by Edinburgh Live showed traffic moving slowly in the left-hand lane, as they approach the accident officers can be seen on the scene.
A police sign and cones block off the lane where two cars – one of which shows significant damage to its front bumper while the other vehicle appears to be on a trailer – are sat stationary.
Traffic Scotland confirmed the accident on their website, they wrote: “The A720 westbound at Baberton is currently restricted, due to a road traffic collision.”
The exact nature of the incident is currently not known.
Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
