Good morning from London, today marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year for the northern hemisphere – the winter solstice.

The weather may be a chilly 8C in Wiltshire, but that won’t stop the celebrations – especially at Stonehenge, where large crowds are expected to gather to watch the sun rise.

We’ll bring you scenes from the historic site, along with a dose of science and culture to keep things interesting.
