Barack Obama has named Hamnet as one of his favourite films of the year

Barack Obama has named Hamnet as one of his favourite films of the year, a major international nod for the film written by Derry author Maggie O’Farrell.

The former US President included the film which is due to be released in UK and Ireland cinemas on January 8, in his annual round-up of favourite books, films and music for 2025, which he shared on social media on 19 December 2025.
