Anyone looking for a last minute Christmas gift who happens to have four and a half million quid lying around could do worse than buying a loved one a massive house on the Promenade in Clifton.

The house measures more than 10,000 square feet, which makes it one of the biggest residential homes in Bristol, according to estate agents Rupert Oliver.

It has six double bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Living spaces include a first floor reception room and an open plan kitchen and dining room opening out onto a raised garden terrace.

If the house sells for its £4.5m asking price before the turn of the year, it will be the most expensive residential property sold in Bristol in 2025 by some distance. The current ‘record’ is £3m, fetched by a property just over the suspension bridge in Leigh Woods.
Going by average current interest rates, paying a ten percent deposit on the house would leave you with a monthly mortgage bill of more than £20,000.
