Tesco already has branches in Musselburgh, Haddington and North Berwick.
Now, it is looking to move into Wallyford, with planning permission in principle already in place for a large retail unit off the village’s Futures Way and Masons Way.
An application for advertising consent was sent to the local authority’s planning department last month.
Now a new application from Tesco PLC, for fencing, a gas cooler and air conditioning units, has been submitted to the council department.
Drawings attached with the application show Tesco and smaller retail units attached to the building.
