Roy Keane hay have been living in the UK for over three decades, but you never got the sense that he has lost any of his ‘Irishness’.
Indeed, the Cork man only seems to lean further into his roots as the years have gone on. He regularly pokes fun at England despite acting as pundit for most of their fixtures on ITV, while usually glowing whenever the chance to discuss his home county or country comes up.
Judging by this week’s edition of Stick to Football, he certainly hasn’t warmed to the UK’s most popular family.

Roy Keane Had Typical Irish Response to Question About British Royal Family

Roy Keane appeared on his usual slot on Stick to Football this week, when it was revealed that fellow panelist Jill Scott had recently met William Prince of Wales.
When it was reveals that William could come on the podcast in the future, Keane gave the type of response you would expect from any self respecting Irishman.
Roy Keane on hearing Jill scott has asked prince william to be on the overlap..’GREAT’π…Then he says let me know when and I’ll have the day off!!π€£ππ..Roy knows the score…Legendππ pic.twitter.com/zFTPT3WS8p

Great! What day is he coming on (the podcast)? Let me know (and he would take it off).
That’s the stuff Roy.
When Jill Scott went on to say that the royal was ‘such a nice guy’, Keane replied by saying ‘you say everyone is nice Jill’.
Of course, were Prince William to come on Stick to Football in the future, the Irishman would no doubt be perfectly civil to him. In saying that, you get the sense that he hasn’t exactly bought into the whole mystique around the Royal Family that would usually be expected of those who live in England.
If we were to hazard a guess, the only ‘royalty’ that Keane believes in is probably in some way related to the legends of Cork GAA.
