A former budding footballer and two family members are behind bars after drugs and a firearm were seized from a property in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police carried out a warrant on a Nissan parked outside an address linked to Jon-James (Jayden), Kye, and Kaiden Lemathy on Holte Road, Aston, in January 2023.

A fully-loaded sawn-off shotgun and cartridges were recovered alongside a significant quantity of cannabis and cocaine with an estimated street value of more than £12,000.

CCTV analysis identify Jayden, Kye, and Kaiden as having accessed the Nissan several times over five days.

Several confiscated mobile phones were forensically examined and found to be advertising drugs for sale in bulk quantities.

Jayden, 33, of Holte Road, admitted possession of a firearm and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, and was sentenced to 10 years and eight months in prison.

Kye Lemathy, 21, also of Holte Road, admitted possession with intent to supply a Class B drug, and possessing criminal property.

Earlier this year, following a different investigation into a shooting in Aston, he admitted possession of a firearm with intent and jailed for more than nine years in total.

During this sentencing back in June, the court heard how Kye was once a promising footballer but fell into crime after being let go from Walsall FC.

Kaiden Lemathy, 18, also of Holte Road, was sentenced two years in prison for possession with intent to supply drugs and possession of a firearm.

He was also sentenced to seven years in prison for causing grievous bodily harm with intent, three counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, and dangerous driving following a separate investigation.

Detective Sergeant Fisher, from Major Crime, said: “The end result of months of complex enquiries was three members of the same family being convicted for serious offences.

“We know that they were responsible for issues arising from the supply of drugs in the local area – and we’re more committed than ever to cracking down on that.”
