Ruben Amorim’s rebuild continues to be planned by Manchester United, with a clear emphasis on adding players with versatility.
The Red Devils welcomed Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko in the summer, who reinforced their attacking front.
With Mbeumo and Amad both gone to the Africa Cup of Nations and Joshua Zirkzee linked to a move away, it could open up the doors to another signing.
Antoine Semenyo has quickly become one of the more intriguing Premier League names on the Old Trafford shortlist after impressing at Bournemouth over the last two seasons.
The Red Devils have been in talks with Bournemouth over the past few weeks to enquire about his situation.
It now seems it’s a two-horse race between the two Manchester clubs for the Ghanaian, with Manchester City also pushing.
Liverpool could also enter the race at any moment.
Now, we can reveal an interesting update on the payment plan for his release clause.

CentreDevils understands that if given the green light, Manchester United wants to negotiate the Antoine Semenyo release clause in instalments rather than pay the full £65 million up front.
Jason Wilcox and Ruben Amorim have identified the Ghanian forward as an elite player who aligns with the club model, with Ruben Amorim also aligning with the move.
This use of instalments will help the Red Devils lower the initial payment, just like they did with Matheus Cunha’s release clause in the summer, which will help with cash flow.
The release clause is there, which fixes the fee but not always the payment terms, which is becoming more common in football now.
It is not yet known the exact figures on the number of instalments nor the number of years it’ll be paid across.
The final decision will now rest on Antoine Semenyo as the January window nears.
