Ghislaine Maxwell sought to procure “intelligent, pretty and fun” women “from good families” for her friend “Andrew”, according to newly released emails.

The correspondence shows Maxwell planning a trip to Peru for a friend saved in her contacts as “The Invisible Man” in 2002.

In a message to a contact in Peru, who was to act as a tour guide, she asked for “two-legged sightseeing” to make her friend “very happy”.

While The Invisible Man is not identified in the files, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor conducted a six-day official visit to Peru in March 2002 to mark the 50th year of his mother’s reign.

Maxwell’s email to Juanesteban Ganoza from March 3, 2002, states: “I just gave Andrew your telephone no … he can ride but it is not his favourite sport … some two-legged sightseeing (read intelligent pretty fun and from good families) and he will be very happy.

“I know I can rely on you to show him a wonderful time and that you will only introduce him to friends that you can trust and rely on to be friendly and discreet and fun … he does not want to read about any trip in the papers [detailing] whom or what he saw.”

Maxwell said Ganoza “can expect a very English-sounding gentleman on the phone to call up and say hi”.

Epstein files live: US releases new documents, photos and videos

Responding to the invitation of a tour of Peru, The Invisible Man had written to Maxwell on February 28, 2002: “I am overwhelmed at the kindness and generosity of the offers that are being made for me. I would love to do them all but fear that there would not be enough time!” He added: “As for girls well I leave that entirely to you and Juan Estoban!”

Ganoza replied: “About the girls … how old is he? I doubt it that he will find someone here, but we can try.”

There is no implication that any illegal activity took place on the trip.

The “Invisible Man” used two email addresses: aace@dial.pipex.com and abx17@dial.pipex.com.

In Jeffrey Epstein’s so-called “black book” of contacts, the first is listed under a contact labelled “Duke of York” — the title renounced by Andrew in October.

Another email from The Invisible Man refers to Balmoral, the royal family’s Scottish retreat:

Other emails reference the man’s apparent service in the Royal Navy, which had recently come to an end. On August 18, he wrote: “You probably wouldn’t know but I lost my valet on Thursday. He died in his sleep. He had been with me since I was two … I have left the RN and now my whole life is in turmoil as I have no one to look after me. He was a real rock and almost a part of the family.

“If you have any good ideas as to how to get my mind back on track I’d be grateful for advice.”

Andrew left the Royal Navy in July 2001 after 22 years of service.

The emails are part of a new release of 8,000 documents by the US Department of Justice on Monday night — the largest tranche so far.
