NEW LONDON, Conn. —

After an incredible season for Coast Guard Football, running back Harrison Hensley(Riverview, FL) and left tackle Jay Martin(Newton, NJ) have been named D3football.com All-Americans. For the Bears, these are the first cadet-athletes they’ve had on the team since punter Tyler Henning in 2014.

Harrison Hensley made the second team All-American team after a historic junior season. He was third in the nation in rushing yards(1,565), fifth in total TDs(21), fifth in all-purpose yards(2,599), seventh in rushing TDs(18), and ninth in rush yards per carry(6.96). This All-American nod adds to his trophy case this season after being named the NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Year and first team All-Region.

Jay Martin closes out an incredible career on the offensive line with a third team All-American nod. The Bears’ trusty left tackle and team captain was the leader in the trenches for one of the nation’s most potent offenses and did not allow a sack in the final three years of his career. On top of his excellence in the blocking game, this year Martin even added a rushing TD to his resume.
