If you’re on the lookout for new food spots to try over the next few weeks then there’s one in the west end we heartily recommend that you might not have heard of.

Tucked away in Broomhill Shopping Centre near Partick in the west end, the team behind American-style diner Po’Boyz are purveyors of some creative dishes you will want to try and they’ve just launched a brand new menu giving food fans old and new the chance to (re)discover them.

First launched back in 2014 and located at Norby Road in Broomhill, this wee restaurant is inspired by the soul food you’ll find in the southern states in cities like New Orleans and is where they got their name.

Referencing a famous phrase used by the Martin brothers at their iconic New Orleans restaurant, it comes from the greeting “here comes another poor boy” (pronounced “Po’Boy”) and was what they used to say when they gave out free sandwiches to the streetcar conductors they used to work with.

Open seven days a week for sit in and take away, they offer a wide range of American dishes and popular fast foods such as “finger-licking” burgers, freshly made sandwiches, grilled steaks, pizzas, authentic Jambalaya, ribs and tasty desserts.

They’ve just announced a new menu where you can try new dishes like the delicious sounding deep-fried pulled pork doughnuts, the Dixie Battered Catfish & Chips, the Chilli Dog and the full rack of ribs.

We’ll see you there!
