Dunterlie Foodshare in Barrhead held its third annual lunch at Dunterlie Resource Centre last Friday (December 19).
Once again the event, which was very well attended, was catered for by Babs Fulton from Unison and Hilary Smith from Barrhead Housing Association.
Rena McGuire BEM, the foodshare’s founder, said: “We held our third Dunterlie Annual Lunch on Friday.
“I would like to give a massive thanks to our chefs Babs and Hilary, and Neill Patton (Corra Foundation) and all of our volunteers from foodshare on the day, Elaine, Moira, Mary, Gina, Nicole and Laura.
“I would also like to thank East Renfrewshire Council Community Learning and Development, John Fleming and his team, for supporting the foodshare since we started more than six years ago.
“Finally I would like to thank our facility officer Robert and Holly who provided music and a singalong.
“We hope everyone had a great day.”
The foodshare supports a steady stream of people who come through its doors at the Dunterlie Resource Centre on Stewart Street every week to make use of the service.
Those who come along receive a free shopping bag with items such as milk, tinned soup and pasta and a free bag containing fresh fruit and vegetables.
The foodshare currently operates on Fridays from 11am to 12pm and is open to Barrhead residents with a G78 postcode.
