  • Cult Glasgow party So Low will host one final party this weekend.

Taking place at EXIT on Sunday, December 28th, THE LAST SO LOW will feature DJ sets from residents Ribeka and Katie Shannon—plus a live ensemble featuring members of The Modern Institute, Kubler-Ross, Stretchheads and SueZuki.

Launched in 2014 by JD Twitch, and later joined by Ribeka, Shannon and Iona Fortune, So Low is geared towards “dark waves, cold waves, minimal synthesis, maximal industrial, forgotten German goth bands and Belgian apocalyptic beats,” per the collective’s musical manifesto.

“We talked Keith [JD Twitch] into doing a night,” Shannon told Resident Advisor, reflecting on the first edition. “He was sure the club would be empty, like it was when he played a lot of that music in the late ’80s, but it wasn’t empty, and a bit of a scene formed around it. People made friends through meeting at the club night.”

Past parties, at venues such as The Berkeley Suite, The Glue Factory and The Poetry Club, have featured guests including Severed Heads and Phew. Following JD Twitch’s the death in September, Shannon insists that Sunday’s party will be particularly poignant.

“We’ll make this a special one,” she said. “A goodbye to our project and to our dear friend and forever inspiration. The proceeds for the tickets after production will go to EXIT and Communal Leisure to help support people’s new projects in Glasgow in 2026, which feels like a good way to end things. NO TEARS FOR THE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT.”
