Environment Agency food alerts have been issued for the River Thames, Lower River Colne and Frays River, as well as Bear Brook and surrounding tributaries.

Bucks Council stated: “A flood alert has been issued for the River Thames from Hurley to Cookham, including Harleyford, Bisham, Marlow and Bourne End by the Environment Agency.

“Rising river levels today may lead to flooding.

“Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.

“Don’t put yourself or others at risk.”

It made the same warning to the public for ‘Bear Brook and tributaries in the Aylesbury area, including Wendover and Weston Turville’.

The council added: “Flooding is possible for: The Lower River Colne and Frays River at Uxbridge, West Drayton, Poyle and Stanwell Moor.

“High river levels today may lead to flooding.

“Flooding is possible on 19 December 2025.

“Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers, especially in areas near Staines Moor.”

This comes amid Thames Water sewage discharges across the county.

In Aylesbury, Gerrards Cross, and Princes Risborough, there are ongoing sewage discharges at the time of writing.

In Princes Risborough, this started at 2pm yesterday, December 18.

Aylesbury’s discharge into the River Thame started at 6.15pm yesterday.

These ongoing sewage releases are not the only Bucks discharges in the last 48 hours.

Yesterday evening, there was a five-hour and 12-minute discharge into the Thames at Little Marlow.

Chesham and Iver waterways have also been impacted.

The River Chess Association had shared advice to the public amid the Chesham discharge, it said: “Please stay out of the water downstream of Blackwell Hall Lane and keep pets out of the river, too.”
