A dog walker has voiced her outrage after stumbling upon a wrecked caravan in a Welsh beauty spot. The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, found the ruined vehicle on a hillside and condemned those responsible for creating such an “eyesore”.
The incident took place on Moel Unben mountain above Llanfair Talhaiarn near Abergele in North Wales. The woman was out walking her dog when she encountered the discarded caravan. She said: “It’s at the top of the mountain.
“It appears as though someone has taken the caravan off-roading. It’s as if they’ve decided to hitch it up and race around the mountain with it trailing behind them. It’s like they have thought ‘How fast can we go? How long will it last?'” For the biggest stories in Wales first, sign up to our daily newsletter here
The dog walker suggested that items belonging to a decorator might be among the debris. She noted: “Paint trays from inside the caravan are scattered around and there’s a chassis at the bottom (of the slope).”

She condemned the culprits, saying: “It’s an eyesore. It’s not being thoughtful for the countryside.”

After sharing photos of the scene on Facebook, the post sparked a wave of anger towards the fly-tippers. “A lot of people in Llanfair TH have expressed their anger. Someone suggested putting up cameras,” the dog walker added.
The incident was reported and it was suggested that the land may belong to the Crown Estate rather than the local council. North Wales Live has reached out to Conwy County Borough Council and the Crown Estate for comment.
