A 20-year-old man has been charged with numerous sexual offences against another male victim. The suspect is accused of attacks on the victim, a man in his 30s, following reports of a number of incidents since October.
An investigation was launched into the incidents. Hmdan Mensor, 20 of Audenshaw, has now been charged with seven counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault by touching, and has now been remanded into custody.
He was arrested on December 21 following a report of a rape at an address in Audenshaw that day, at which point further allegations were then made.
Greater Manchester Police said officere are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation. The man is currently being supported by specialist teams as we continue to investigate.
Detective Chief Inspector Abdul Kahar, from GMP’s Tameside district, said: “This is naturally a disturbing report to receive and we are working to establish the full circumstances of the allegations, as well as to ensure all available evidence is secured.
“We quickly secured an arrest once the report was made to us, and are supporting the man who disclosed these allegations throughout this difficult process. Criminal proceedings in this case are now active, and it is important that people do not speculate about this case to avoid jeopardising legal proceedings.”
