SHEFFIELD have named World No.5 Jack Holder as their first signing for 2026.

Tigers’ chiefs have given supporters an early present on Christmas Eve, announcing that the Grand Prix star is back at Owlerton for a sixth straight season – less than a week since they confirmed they would be back at the tapes in next year’s Premiership.

Holder has been an inspirational No.1 for the South Yorkshire side and is closing in on 1,000 league point mark for the Tigers.

Team boss Simon Stead says the return of the Aussie ace is not only a huge early plus for Sheffield, but it’s also a massive boost to British Speedway as a whole.

“It’s been a very uncertain time across the board since the end of the 2025 season,” Stead said.

“There’s been quite a sense of angst from the speedway community, which is understandable under the circumstances I suppose, but the Premiership is still going to consist of top quality riders next year – and our signing of Jack is just one example of that.

“He’s genuinely world class and he’s a points scoring machine who has won numerous key races for us at key moments.

“He’s a proper out-and-out No.1, he’s fully committed to Sheffield and we can’t wait to have him back again in 2026.”
