Former tennis player Anna Kournikova has announced that she has welcomed a fourth child with her long-term partner, Enrique Iglesias. The former world No. 8, who was one of the sport’s biggest stars from the late 1990s to the early 2000s, was forced into retirement due to persistent injuries that hindered her performance on the court. She remained a pop culture icon despite hanging up her racket in 2003, partly due to her relationship with Iglesias.

Kournikova has lived a relatively quiet life since choosing to step back from the limelight and focus on being a mother. She initially welcomed twins Lucy and Nicholas in 2017, followed by daughter Mary three years later. Now, she has announced the birth of a fourth child in a heartwarming post on social media.

A picture shared jointly by the accounts of Kournikova and Iglesias shows the sleeping infant wrapped up in a white-striped blanket, wearing a pink-and-blue-striped beanie and cuddled up with a stuffed animal. The caption reads: “My Sunshine 12.17.2025.”

The happy couple are yet to announce the gender and name of the baby. They are known for keeping their relationship private but occasionally share details of their personal lives on social media.

Iglesias posted in a similar fashion to announce the birth of Mary in 2020, simply writing: “My Sunshine 01.30.2020.” The couple are thought to have been together since 2001, when they met on the set of one of the singer’s music videos.

Back in January, fans became concerned for Kournikova’s health when she was spotted in a wheelchair in her first public appearance for two years.

She was seen sporting a protective walking boot on her right foot and a bandage on her right little finger. Accompanied by two of her children, Kournikova was holding her phone while wearing a black hoodie and tracksuit bottoms.

It was not immediately clear why she was in a wheelchair, leading to widespread speculation on social media. However, her mother-in-law, Isabel Preysler, quickly moved to clarify the situation and ease concerns among her fans.

She said: “It’s nothing serious, just a minor foot injury. It’s a small sprain, but you know how painful those can be.”

Kournikova and Iglesias tend to keep their private life under wraps, but the singer offered an insight into their family dynamic in a revealing interview last year.

“I’m relaxing, spending time at home with my kids, taking them to school, watching them grow,” he said. “I have three children: six-year-old twins and a four-year-old daughter.

“It feels like they grow up a little every day. I’m headed home tonight and it already feels like they’ve grown while I’ve been away.”
