Boxing Day is fast approaching, and as many Brits look to carry out a bit of post-Christmas shopping, knowing which shops are open and closed is vital to avoid disappointment.

A number of stores have already confirmed they will be shutting down for Boxing Day, including Aldi, Home Bargains and Halfords, with a large volume of shops opting to give staff a rest on December 26 this year.

Multiple companies have made the decision to close doors for 24 hours is to enable employees to spend more time with family and enjoy the festive season without too much worry about popping back to work.

Without further ado, here are all the stores closing on Boxing Day:

Wickes

The DIY chain will be closed on Boxing Day as it wants families to “enjoy family time” over the Christmas period.

Aldi

All stores will shut on this day, with the doors to every shop in the UK closing at 6pm on Christmas Eve. The branches will then not open again until December 27.

Home Bargains

Every shop will shut on Boxing Day to give staff a full break.

Marks & Spencer

The majority of stores will be shutting their doors on Boxing Day, this includes the closure of high street and retail park locations. It appears only a small number at service stations will be operating on the day.

Poundland

All closing on December 26

The Works

Branches will be closing on December 26.

Dunelm

For the second year running, the chain will not be asking staff to come into work on December 26, instead opting to give employees an extended Christmas break.

Pets at Home

All branches will close on December 26 to allow staff to have a full break.

B&Q

Staff will be permitted the day off on December 26, with full working conditions resuming on December 27.

Tesco

All superstores will be closed on December 26, however, the convenience version of the chain, its Express stores, are likely to stay open for reduced hours.

Waitrose

Almost all branches closed on December 26, besides a small number catering to delivery platforms on Boxing Day.

The chain has confirmed it will be closed for Boxing Day, as well as Christmas Day this year.

Halfords

The store will be shutting on Boxing Day.
