Leeds United are going to need a new attacking signing when the January window opens, and if money allows for it, there’s scope to bring in another goalscoring menace.
United’s battle to stay in the Premier League is becoming a lot clearer, as they sit with a nice six-point gap to West Ham heading out of Christmas Day.
The Irons, though, are already planning to bolster their lack of firepower to get out of the mess they’re in. Leeds must respond to keep them at arm’s length.

Leeds United could do with another striker after confirmed Lukas Nmecha injury news
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s formidable goalscoring form has papered over the fact that Leeds have been short of striker options of late.
Lukas Nmecha has missed the last three games with a hamstring problem. Ahead of Sunderland, he has been given a “small chance” by Daniel Farke to feature.

Meanwhile, Joel Piroe’s 15-minute cameo against Crystal Palace probably served as a massive detriment to his prospects of being involved more in the Premier League.
As a result, it begs the question of whether Leeds will identify this issue and find a new striker for the January window.
Calvert-Lewin has proven to be finding form again with his fitness holding up. But, historic issues for him are something we simply cannot afford to risk.
Leeds United should consider a move for Union SG and Canada star Promise David
If Leeds are in the market for a striker, which they should be, then we’re going to need someone physically very dominant to keep up this theme we saw vs Palace.
Linked in the summer, a name I’d very much like to see Leeds test the waters for is Union SG striker Promise David.
The 6ft5in Canadian international is having another storming campaign. He’s bagged 12 goals already in all competitions, two of those being in the Champions League.

He’s a battering ram with and without the ball. Leeds could have a real menace on their hands if they firm up their supposed interest from the summer.
Importantly, if the club are keen, they’ll want to do a deal in January rather than the summer.
David is likely to head to the World Cup with Jesse Marsch’s Canada. And as we all know, a solid international tournament leads to a player’s price absolutely skyrocketing. In turn, we can’t afford that.
What has Jesse Marsch said about previous Leeds United target Promise David?
Of course, given that he’s being coached on an international level by Marsch, it’d be interesting to hear what the ex-Leeds boss has to say about him.
Marsch gave David his debut for Canada. And, he’s been repaid for calling up with the 24-year-old scoring three in eight caps so far.
“Promise David has obviously had a great year at Union Saint-Gilloise,” Marsch said, via Canadian Soccer Daily earlier this year. “He and I have been in a lot of contact over the last four or five months. I’ve watched him, we’ve talked a lot about his progress. He’s excited about joining the Canadian national team.
“The reason I’ve hunted them so heavily is I really believe that they will fit what we do very well and they’ll assimilate quickly. We’ll be ready to insert them into games and see how they do, give them a chance to show what they’re about.
“Clearly, both are highly talented players and Promise is in really good form. We’re excited to get both of them in.”
