The second of what is believed to be four character-focused trailers for “Avengers: Doomsday” is now in cinemas with “Avatar: Fire and Ash”.
Whereas the first focused on Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, this one focuses on Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and aligns with the leaked descriptions from last week. A bootleg is already online ahead of a presumably high-quality official copy hitting next week.
In the clip, Thor is briefly seen in casual Earth human gear, kissing his adopted daughter goodnight. Most of it, he’s back in his Thor armour and praying to his father while standing in a forest, saying:
“The war and now fate have given me something I never sought. A child. A life untouched by this all. Lend to me the strength of the All-Fathers so that I might fight once more. Defeat one more enemy and return home to her, not as a warrior, but as warmth. To teach her not battle, but stillness. The kind I never knew, Please father, hear my words.”
But what about the other two trailers? Initial rumours had it centred on Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Then came the talk that would be the fourth trailer, with the third focusing on Tom Hiddleston’s Loki.
Now, Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic has indicated the third teaser will actually involve returning X-Men characters – specifically Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen) and Cyclops (James Marsden).
It’s also indicated that the fourth will reportedly focus on the Fantastic Four and the Wakandans. Doom is seemingly being kept under wraps for now, unless a fifth and proper overall teaser trailer emerges as has been previously rumoured.
