Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the alleged incident at the pub to come forward

A pub has released a statement after a man was left with serious injuries following an alleged assault on Christmas Eve. North Wales Police confirmed it was investigating the incident at The Broad Oak Pub in Connah’s Quay. The force said a man in his twenties was seriously injured in what they described as a “serious assault”.
Witnesses suggested a man was stabbed during the incident, but this has not been confirmed by police. Officers have arrested a man in connection with the alleged incident.
Following the events, the pub posted a statement on Facebook, reports North Wales Live.
It said: “Given the nature of the events on Christmas Eve we can’t comment much further online.
“However, I’d like to thank both our door staff for dealing with everything so quickly and to North Wales Police and Ambulance services for their rapid responses.”
The post continued: “Not something anyone should have to go through, especially at Christmas, our thoughts are with the young man and his family and we hope he makes a speedy recovery and is back on his feet soon.
“We have worked alongside NWP through the night and morning to assist in any way we can, they are calling for any witnesses to get in touch.

North Wales Police released a statement on Christmas Day, confirming a man in his twenties sustained “serious injuries” in the incident which occurred at approximately 7.30pm on Wednesday, December 24. They have urged witnesses to provide any relevant information.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting the incident number C198737. Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
