Manchester United got back to winning ways to secure a victory against Newcastle United. The Reds claimed a 1-0 win over the Magpies in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.

Patrick Dorgu scored the only goal of the game which was enough to secure all three points for Ruben Amorim’s side in the festive fixture and bounce back from their defeat to Aston Villa in their previous match.

The win moved the Reds up to fifth place in the Premier League table ahead of the remainder of the teams in the top flight going head-to-head over the weekend. They are now level on points with Liverpool and ahead of their bitter rivals on goal difference, with the Merseyside outfit scheduled to play Wolves on Saturday.

Amorim’s side’s next match will see them take on Wolves before the New Year, in what will be their final game of 2025, and there will still be a hectic schedule to contend with over the next few weeks.
