Lamine Yamal and Erling Haaland are arguably two of the best forwards in world football.
Haaland referred to Yamal as “incredible” and the Barcelona phenom might feel the same way about the star striker.
Rodri is a massive fan of Yamal’s as well but the Spanish midfielder knows full well how outstanding Haaland is as well.
After all, Rodri believes Haaland is better than Lionel Messi currently.
Jamie Carragher chimed on who he thinks is the better player out of Yamal and Erling Haaland.

On CBS Sports, Carragher was analysing Lamine Yamal’s game and brought up the point that Haaland and Kylian Mbappe initially seem best-placed to succeed Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the two best players of the current decade.
While doing so, Jamie Carragher broke down Yamal, Haaland and Mbappe’s respective abilities.
The Liverpool legend is unsure about whether the 17-year-old is superior to the Frenchman but he feels the teenage sensation is a better player than Haaland: “I’ll tell you what, we’ve spoken a lot about Messi and Ronaldo getting to a certain age and maybe not being the best players in the world now and we almost felt like Mbappe and Haaland were the next two.”
“But I don’t think Haaland’s ever going to become that. He’s just an out-and-out goalscorer. Mbappe, of course, yeah. But the way he [Yamal] played tonight, Mbappe, I don’t know…I’m not saying he’s better than Mbappe now but there’s more to it when I’m talking about like [Lionel] Messi, I don’t think Mbappe’s ever going to be that, he’s devastating because of the pace and the goals and he’s probably a better player than Haaland because he’s getting more involved in the game and pulling out wide.”
Jamie Carragher concluded: “But a lot of it is still about pace and hitting hard shots and whipping shots in the near but that’s just like beating men in small areas of the pitch.”
Who has a higher ceiling: Lamine Yamal or Haaland?
Haaland gets into any team in the world or arguably so at least and the same applies to Yamal, which might make it even difficult for Carragher to make a case for who is indeed superior once he thinks about the comparisons more.
But with plenty of time left in both players’ careers, the question is who has the higher ceiling?

The advantage that Haaland has in any such comparisons with Yamal is that his body of work is far more extensive.
Based on the same size at present, it is difficult not to back the Manchester City number nine but the Spaniard has the world at his feet and there is no denying how uniquely gifted he is.
