Men’s race
The battle for the world cup becomes complicated for the full-timers, with Laurens Sweeck and Michael Vanthourenhout the two men that have a slight shot at preventing Mathieu van der Poel from winning it. Sweeck continues to lead, by 1 point, but van der Poel – who is not present – should win all the rounds he still takes part in this winter. Thus, he must score as much as possible in this opportunity.
But that will be hard with Wout van Aert looking for his first win of the winter, Tibor del Grosso who is on great form, Thibau Nys who is eager to prove himself, and plenty other quality riders who are likely to take big points. Lars van der Haar, Pim Ronhaar, Ryan Kamp and Mees Hendrikx are also riding for the Dutch; the Belgian have Niels Vandeputte, Toon Aerts, Emiel Verstrynge, Joran Wyseure, Toon Vandebosch and Jente Michels to fill up positions in the Top10; whilst the likes of Felipe Orts, Kevin Kuhn, Cameron Mason, Andrew Strohmeyer, Filippo Agostinacchio and Michael Boros are also all present.
