Picture-perfectly perched on top of an (otherwise rather nondescript) office block is a lush, leafy, and oh-so luxurious hotel that’ll make it pretty tricky to be-leaf you’re mere moments away from some of the most chaotic corners of the capital city.

Treehouse is a trio of gorgeously green hotels; one of which is located slap-bang in the middle of London, offering an eco-friendly escape that’ll make you feel like you’ve climbed inside the treehouse that you begged your parents to build you as a child. Well, perhaps marginally more sophisticated than the one you imagined; but equally as magical.

Treehouse London boasts 95 eccentrically elegant bedrooms; twelve of which are spacious suites, and all of which are pretty darn dreamy. I’ll start with the bed, because – let’s face it – I’ve been able to think about little else since getting out of it last week. In fact, the only thing that convinced me to peel my head away from the perfectly squishy pillow was the prospect of a rainfall shower, followed by breakfast at Madera (but more on that later).

The bedrooms at Treehouse offer sumptuous serenity and understated luxury. Not in a pretentious way; in a ‘my box room in Clapham could never’ kind of way. It was whimsical, welcoming, and – well… just really bloody lovely, to be quite honest with you. There were thoughtful design details sprinkled throughout; from the tree trunk pillars in the bathroom to an eclectic array of comfy cushions scattered throughout the room.

My favourite spot, however, was the window seat that offered a birds-eye view over London. I plonked myself down there for the entire morning, people-watching and pretending to do my work. The location is, quite frankly, unparalleled. From our window, we could see the twinkling lights of Winter Wonderland, and hustle and bustle of Regent’s Street. But from the moment you step inside the building, the stress of city life simply melts away. Treehouse has a focus on sustainability, but still boasts all of the contemporary comforts you could possibly want or need for a night away from home.

The food at Treehouse London

Treehouse London is home to Madera; a beautiful, buzzy Mexican restaurant up on the 15th floor. Boasting views as utterly delicious as the food itself, it’s not hard to see why it’s a rather popular spot. Breakfast was undeniably great, but dinner was nothing short of sensational.

We tucked in to a delightful spread, stuffing our faces with zesty guacamole, a variety of mouth-watering tacos, crispy calamari, and succulent salmon. We washed it all down with a couple of spicy margs (would be rude not to, right?), and topped off the meal with some scrumptious churros. Each and every dish was fresh, flavoursome, and flipping delicious. And even if you don’t fancy a stay at Treehouse; I’d highly recommend popping in for a meal at Madera regardless.
