Emmerdale’s Mackenzie Boyd embarks on a risky mission to drop a baby bombshell on Jacob Gallagher and Sarah Sugden next week – but his reckless chase sends his car spinning off the road in Corriedale. As his marriage to Charity collapses, Mackenzie is adamant that the young couple need to know the horrifying truth about their supposed surrogate baby.
However, as Mack’s efforts to hunt them down send him and Charity swerving off-road, will they ever hear the truth?
“Mackenzie is adamant Charity needs to face the music!” explains Lawrence Robb, who plays Mackenzie. “He wants to get Sarah and Jacob and force Charity to tell them. That’s why he’s so irate in trying to get their attention.”
After Mack asks her straight out if the child she’s carrying is his, Charity reveals a partial-truth and admits it may not be Sarah and Jacob’s baby. But her confession leaves her husband utterly heartbroken – and he doesn’t even know the half of it.

“Charity will do anything to avoid the love of her life finding out,” confesses Emma Atkins, who plays expectant Charity. “She doesn’t want Sarah to find out at the airport either. The idea of a showdown there is so painful for everyone involved. Charity’s trying to stop that from happening.”
With Sarah and Jacob on the way to catch a flight for their honeymoon, and Cain and Moira Dingle driving them there, Mackenzie is convinced they need to hear the truth immediately.
As the extent of his wife’s betrayal sinks in, Mackenzie convinces Charity to get in the car as he demands answers. It’s crunch time for their marriage…
Horrified that Charity would lie to Sarah like this, Mackenzie puts his foot down and they speed off, trying to catch Sarah and Jacob before they board their plane. Anxious Charity tries to calm him down, but Mackenzie’s determined – and the worst part of the lie is still to come.

“Mackenzie pulls her into a layby and asks Charity why she’s with him,” teases Emma. “It’s going to be so explosive. But there’s so much more to come out, he doesn’t even know it’s Ross’ baby!”
In hot pursuit of Cain and Moira’s car, Mackenzie flashes them with his headlights, but then the car veers out of control and smashes through a gate into a field.
Will Charity’s baby be okay? And will Sarah and Jacob finally discover the horrifying truth about the terrible betrayal?
