A passenger on the aircraft filmed the moment the pilot made an announcement urging the person responsible to return the goods.

The short clip was posted on TikTok last week and has already racked up more than 81,100 views.

In it, the pilot can be heard saying: “The items, if they hand them over, if that happens, everyone gets off the plane quicker.

“If not, individually, everyone will be searched.”

It is understood that a packet of crisps, fizzy drinks and some chocolates were among the items reported missing.

Photos from the plane show several officers searching the cabin after it landed in Edinburgh.

Cops were also spotted talking to the pilot as they made their way up and down the aisle.

After no one confessed, police began searching every passenger on the plane as well as bags and suitcases.
