The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Russia commented on a meeting between Ambassador Rahman Mustafayev and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.
The sides discussed the outcomes of Azerbaijani–Russian relations in 2025. The ambassador recalled that the year unfolded under the shadow of the tragedy involving the AZAL aircraft in December 2024 and emphasized the importance of the agreements reached at the meeting of the presidents in Dushanbe on October 9.
“Mustafayev drew attention to the need for the swift implementation of the agreements reached between the two leaders in Dushanbe, first and foremost President of Russia Vladimir Putin’s statement that ‘everything required in such tragic cases will be done by the Russian side in terms of compensation, and a proper legal assessment will be given to the actions of all officials.’
In this context, the assertion that no procedural decisions can replace or cancel the need to implement the directives contained in the Russian president’s statement was received positively,” the statement said.
