A brand new pizza restaurant and takeaway could be opening in Bristol soon. According to a planning application, Pizza Pilgrims is looking to open a new branch on Corn Street.

The plans detail a ‘pizza restaurant with associated takeaway, boxed and prepared for consumption away from the premises’. According to the address proposed in the plans, the new restaurant looks set to open up shop in the home of Stanfords, one of Bristol’s oldest independent bookshops.

The book shop has, at time of writing, not announced any information about its closure. BristolLive has approached Stanfords for more information.

Pizza Pilgrims was founded in 2012 after founders Thom and James decided to “quit their jobs and fly to the toe-end of Italy, pick up a three-wheel Piaggio Ape van and drive the 4,500km back to London, learning all they could about the true art of pizza making”.

According to the Pizza Pilgrims website: “In 2023, we built an even more ridiculous pizza wagon – THE PIZZA VESPA – and took part in a 10-day trip, visiting the icons of the Napoli pizza scene, as well as suppliers and friends they have made over the last 10 years.”

The business has pizzerias in Birmingham, Brighton, Camden, Cambridge, Canary Wharf, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, and various other London locations.

The team serves up slow-proved Neapolitan pizza at pizzerias and events across the UK and through its delivery service – Pizza in the Post. At time of writing, the menu includes everything from a classic margherita, to a smoky aubergine parmigiana, nduja, mushroom and truffle, and an eight-cheese pizza.

Sides include smoked mozzarella bites, cacio e pepe balls, artichoke fritti, Napoli salami, garlic flatbread, and salad. While you can also order dips for your crusts, and desserts like Sicilian lemon sorbet, Nutella pizza ring, pistachio affogato, gelato, and an Espresso Martini.

According to the submitted plans, dated December 17, 2025, Pizza Pilgrims on Corn Street hopes to be open from 10am to 11.30pm Sunday to Thursday, and 10am to 12.30am Friday and Saturday.
