Saab has signed a contract with France’s General Directorate of Armaments (DGA) for two GlobalEye Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft, including ground equipment, training and support. The order is valued at approximately SEK 12.3 billion, with deliveries scheduled between 2029 and 2032, and includes an option for the DGA to acquire two additional aircraft.
“Today’s order underscores the robust partnership between Saab and France. By selecting GlobalEye, France is investing in a highly modern and capable Airborne Early Warning & Control solution,” said Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab. “This choice reinforces France’s commitment to sovereignty and strengthens Europe’s overall protection, with both Sweden and France operating GlobalEye.”
GlobalEye is a multi-domain AEW&C system equipped with a combination of active and passive sensors for long-range detection and identification in the air, at sea and over land. The system provides real-time information to air forces, armies and navies, enhancing situational awareness and enabling early detection of potential threats.
