Tailbacks are forming on one of NI’s main motorways after clothes were left strewn on the carriageway on Thursday evening.

Photographs from the roadside on the M2 show vehicles having to manoeuvre to avoid a line of what appears to be clothing spread out for a few hundred yards in the left hand lane of the northbound road.

The PSNI said the incident occurred after a lorry shed its load.

“Police received a report just after 5.20pm on Thursday, May 1, that a lorry appeared to have shed its load on the M2 northbound, just after Templepatrick services, leaving debris in a live lane,” said a spokesperson.

“Delays should be anticipated in the area.”
