A suspect who was arrested on Christmas Eve after a woman was attacked inside a property has been named. Merseyside Police was called to an address on Lower Breck Road in Anfield shortly after 6.35pm on Wednesday, December 24, following reports a woman had been assaulted. She was taken to hospital with multiple head injuries and has since been discharged, police confirmed on Monday (December 29).
Alan Hughes, 57, of Lower Breck Road, Liverpool, has been charged with section 18 wounding with intent and criminal damage. He was also charged with two counts of using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour. He was taken to a Merseyside police station, where he was remanded in custody.
