A man has been taken to hospital following a suspected attack outside a pub on New Year’s Eve. Three teenage boys have been arrested following the incident that happened outside The Railway in Plymouth Road, Penarth, on Wednesday night.

Officers from South Wales Police were called to reports of a disturbance at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, December 31. A 19-year-old man has been injured and taken to hospital but his injuries are not considered life-changing, according to police.

Two boys aged 16 and 17 from Penarth, and a 16-year-old boy from Barry, have been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 GBH with intent. Don’t miss a court report by signing up to our crime newsletter here.

Chief superintendent Marc Attwell said: “Officers attended Plymouth Road, Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan, at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, December 31, following a report of a disturbance.

“A 19-year-old man from Rhoose, Vale of Glamorgan, has been taken to hospital.

“His injuries are not considered life-changing.

“Two boys aged 16 and 17 from Penarth, and a 16-year-old boy from Barry, have been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 GBH with intent.”
