Sir David Beckham has delivered a heartfelt message to son Brooklyn, in what seems to be his most significant peace offering yet during their ongoing family rift.
The former England captain was in a reflective mood on New Year’s Day as he turned to social media to express his affection for his children while bidding farewell to 2025. Just hours before the clock struck midnight, David posted pictures featuring his wife Victoria alongside their children Romeo, Cruz and Harper.
Yet Brooklyn and his spouse Nicola were conspicuously absent from this initial family homage.
“I’m so grateful for all my family I love you all,” declared the ex-Manchester United star, accompanying snapshots of sons Cruz and Romeo from their younger days. “I’m so lucky to have my Amazimg (sic) family x,” he posted.
A heartfelt David subsequently uploaded an image showing just him and Brooklyn with their arms embracing during more harmonious times. “I love you all so much,” wrote the father, followed by a white heart emoji, reports the Mirror.
The beaming photograph represented a gesture to acknowledge Brooklyn, who made the radical choice to distance himself from the Beckham dynasty last year. Following 12 months of shunning his relatives, the aspiring cook decided to block them entirely from his social media platforms, ensuring he would never have to encounter or witness them again.
This didn’t prevent David from attempting to bridge the divide and cherish fond memories as he posted a final New Year photograph featuring his entire family gathered together shortly after Harper’s birth. “I’m a very lucky Daddy” accompanied by another white heart emoji.
The photograph held particular significance given that the three brothers have since ceased all communication.
“You are my Life” alongside five white heart emojis – representing one for his wife and each of his children, including eldest son Brooklyn. David went on: “I Love you all, Love Dadddy (sic) x On to 2026” followed by an emoji of two champagne flutes clinking together.
The devastating rift between Brooklyn, his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham and the remaining Beckham family members has been visibly simmering since spring, with supporters noting Brooklyn’s absence from numerous family gatherings – including both parents’ birthdays – and his failure to acknowledge them on Instagram, despite previously doing so.

Brooklyn and Nicola have persistently avoided significant family milestones – including David’s much-anticipated knighthood ceremony earlier this year – and renewed their wedding vows without a single Beckham present. The dispute seemed to intensify when reports emerged that Brooklyn had blocked brothers Romeo and Cruz, though sources later suggested that Romeo and Cruz had actually been the ones to block Brooklyn and Nicola.
In a disappointing turn of events leading up to Christmas, Brooklyn blocked his parents, as well as his brother Cruz, on Instagram, despite their recent attempts at reconciliation. The news came to light when Cruz debunked media reports suggesting that it was David and Victoria who had done the blocking.
Cruz posted a screenshot of the article with a caption stating: “NOT TRUE My mum and dad would never unfollow their son… Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I.”
This revelation led to a flurry of criticism directed at Brooklyn and Nicola on their festive social media posts.

Brooklyn and Nicola shared a series of photos from their Christmas celebrations – featuring them in matching pyjamas – and wished their followers “a marry christmas (sic) and a happy new year filled with so much love, peace and happiness”.
However, fans were focused on the brutal move from the couple so close to Christmas.
One follower commented: “Brooklyn you can get lots of wife’s (sic) but only one mum… you have to remember that. Heal each other with love, kindness, care and support.”
Another chimed in with: “Remember where you come from, you would be nothing without them. Ungrateful.”
While a third questioned: “Why do you use the Beckham family name if you don’t want to deal with them?”.
