A man has been taken to hospital after sustaining serious injuries during a New Year’s Day burglary in Co Antrim.

It’s after a group of men attacked with weapons a man in Ballymoney after entering a house on Charlotte Street shortly before midnight.

Detective Inspector Ballentine urged those with information to come forward.

“He sustained serious injuries including a number of suspected fractures and open wound,” said the Inspector.

“He remains in hospital for treatment but, thankfully, the injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening at this time.
