A woman has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a van in Swinton. Emergency services attended Wilfred Street, off Boundary Road, at around 10.20am this morning (January 2).
Greater Manchester Police says it was called out to reports of a collision involving a female pedestrian and a van. North West Ambulance Service confirmed a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance were sent out to the scene.
The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, GMP says. Witnesses reported seeing a large emergency services presence in the area, near to Swinton Precinct.
An NWAS spokesperson said: “We were called at just after 10:15am to reports of an incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. We sent a rapid response vehicle and ambulance to the scene and we’ve taken the patient to hospital.”
