The incident reportedly occurred eastbound on A494 Bypass Road, on the approach to the M56, at around 6pm.
Traffic was heavy area and motorists faced delays for around half an hour in the area.
The collision has since been cleared and traffic has returned to normal.
A crash has was reported on the Welsh Road, at the Ledsham traffic lights near Ellesmere Port – but has also since been cleared.
