Pre-tax profits drop in 2024 at NI’s main McDonald’s companies

Pre-tax profits have plunged at the top McDonald’s operators in Northern Ireland, with one blaming rising overheads for 2024’s poorer figures, Belfast Telegraph can reveal.

But 2024 also brought the biggest surge in competition for McDonald’s in years, with the arrival to NI of fried chicken purveyors Popeyes, Mary Brown’s Chicken and Slim Chickens.
