The current Met Office weather warning remains in place until later this morning with more snow and ice hitting North Wales. This has brought some disruption although currently not at the level we saw on Friday when the A55 was closed.

There will still be patches of snow and hail over the rest of the day and into Sunday morning – and ice on the roads. But the next big snowfalls are due on Sunday and it looks like large parts of the region will be badly impacted.

A Met Office weather warning for snow and ice starts at 3pm and this will be in place until Monday morning.

The Met Office said: “Snow and ice has the potential to cause disruption to travel in places from Sunday evening through to Monday morning.”

They added: “Snow showers are expected to push further inland across Wales, parts of northwest England, the West Midlands and southwest England during Sunday evening. Along windward coasts, rain and sleet is more likely, but inland showers will fall as snow. “Whilst not all locations in the warning areas will see snow, around 1-3 cm is expected to fall in many places by Monday morning, with the potential for 5-8 cm to build up in a few locations, particularly across inland and higher parts of Wales. Icy patches are likely to form widely.”

Here we have hour by hour weather maps showing where and when the snow will hit.

Snow is white, light grey and dark grey(heaviest, over 4mm an hour) while hail is shades of peach and orange.
