The Met Office alert will be in force from 4pm on Saturday
The Met Office has issued a fresh weather warning. The 20 hour alert for ice will start at 4pm today and run until midday on Sunday.
It covers every county in North Wales and comes as temperatures are set to dip further.
Met Office forecasters said sleet and snow would see icy stretches that may cause some travel disruption.
The Met Office added: “Showers of sleet and snow (snow mainly over higher ground), will affect parts of Wales and southwest England during Saturday evening and overnight into Sunday morning. Where showers occur, icy stretches will develop on untreated surfaces. Join the North Wales Live WhatsApp community group where you can get the latest stories delivered straight to your phone
“Whilst many areas will see little accumulating snow, there is potential for several cm over Eryri, higher ground of Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, and perhaps parts of Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor.”
What Should I Do?
The Met Office said: “Keep yourself and your family safe when it is icy. Plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal. Not needing to rush, reduces your risk of accidents, slips, and falls.
“If you need to make a journey on foot, try to use pavements along main roads which are likely to be less slippery. Similarly, if cycling, try and stick to main roads which are more likely to have been treated.
“Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary.
“Be prepared for weather warnings to change: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your are.”
